After receiving encouragement from her 3rd grade teacher, Amy Carney knew art would always be an important part of her life.  Her love of drawing, painting, art and design lead her to pursue degrees in both Art and Interior Design at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Her career began in the commercial design field and later transitioned into  textile design that resulted in placement among major national retailers.  Amy is now working from her studio in Greensboro where she is pursuing her art career full time.  Her passion for creating combined with her love of animals has grown into a commissioned pet portrait business. She also enjoys painting house portraits and is beginning a collection of abstract landscapes.  Her most used medium is Acrylics.
